Speed management

Speed management is usually the first
exercise performed in part 1 of the yard test. The driver is required to drive
in a straight line through speed censors on the road and must be within the
required speed limitation. Penalty points will be given for the following:

  • Observation/mirrors/blind spots
  • Gear changing/selection
  • Moving off
  • Loss of balance
  • Controlled stop
  • Stalls engine
  • Disengage clutch
  • Braking
  • Speed for manoeuvre too slow
  • Touch line
  • Stop motorcycle on point ā€œDā€
  • Lets vehicle roll
  • Number of attempts
