Mounting/Starting

This is typically done after the pre-trip
exterior inspection and refers to mounting and dismounting a motorcycle and
also the starting procedure of the motorcycle. If the driver does not know how
to mount and dismount the motorcycle they will most likely fall or lose
balance. it is important that the driver knows how to operate the motorcycle
and makes sure to mention everything out loud. It is especially important to
know the following to avoid penalties:

• Braking
• Position of fuel valve
• Ignition key not switched on
• Neutral
• Position of engine “kill” switch
• Operation of choke
• Starts engine
• Operation of lights
• Operation of indicator
• Operation of horn
• Loss of balance
