During the
road test instructor will evaluate the driver’s lane changing competency. It is
important for the driver not to perform any dangerous actions and still main
following distance. Important things to remember, changing lanes within an
intersection should be avoided. Check the appropriate blind spot prior to
crossing a lane-line. The left-hand side-line of the straight path between “A”
and “C” shall not be touched anywhere. The right-hand side-line of the straight
path between “A” and “C” shall be crossed before getting to “C”.

Penalties will be given for:

• Observation/mirrors/blind spots
• Gear changing/Selection
• Moving off
• Stalls engine
• Signal intention
• Cancels signal
• Loss of balance
• Touch line
• Number of attempts
• Lets vehicle roll
