Alley docking (to the right)

Alley Docking to the right.

Alley docking forms part of the yard test and
is a reverse parking action done by the driver from the starting point
(allocated block). The driver will be required to reverse the vehicle into an
allocated parking around poles and stopping at the end. The driver must NOT hit
or touch any poles or obstacles including the curb as this will result in
immediate failure and the test will be stopped immediately. This action must be
completed from both the left and the right side, given that the instructor can
choose the side from which the driver will start. Alley docking deduction
points are allocated for the following:

• If the driver lets the vehicle roll.
  (Immediate failure.)
• Application of parking brake
• Application of parking brake without using
  release mechanism.
• Observation
• Signal intention
• Gear changing/selection
• Moving off
• Stalls engine
• Counter steers
• Touches obstacle/s (immediate failure)
• Number of attempts
• Cancels signal
