Left turn

Left turn
is part of the yard test and is a driving exercise where the driver will be
required to make a left turn. Only one attempt will be allowed. In this
exercise the driver will be required to check the rear-view mirrors and blind
spot to the left. Signal intention. Check blind spot to the left. Steer to and
position vehicle in appropriate lane then check rear-view mirrors. Decelerate.
Select correct gear. Check blind spot to the left. Steer into appropriate lane.
Check rear-view mirrors whilst turning to ensure safe follow through of vehicle
round the bend. Accelerate smoothly. Cancel signal. Check rear-view mirrors.

    intention
  • Cancels
    signal
  • Mirrors
    whilst cornering
  • Mounts
    kerb or touch line/road marking (immediate failure)
