What this sign means
There's a one way road ahead going left.
This is a warning sign — it does not give an instruction, it alerts you to a specific hazard ahead so you can adjust your speed and following distance in good time. When you see it, work out what it changes about your driving — your speed, your position on the road, or what you are allowed to do next — and act early rather than late.
Where you will usually find it
Warning signs are placed on the approach to a hazard — usually on the left-hand side of the road, far enough before the danger to give you time to slow down and react. You will meet them ahead of sharp curves, crossings, gradients, animals and roadworks, on both urban and rural roads.
