Introduction to Driver’s Responsibilities

Responsible driving means driving with the safety and convenience of all road users in mind. A driver must operate a vehicle in a condition or manner that avoids:

• Injury to any person or animal
• Annoyance to any person
• Damage to any property
• Distraction to the driver

To enable this, the driver of a vehicle must have a clear view of the road ahead and always ensure the vehicle is safely controlled. The driver must be positioned in his/her seat as to enable this.
