Starting

This is
part of road test and whilst doing the test the instructor will require the
driver to start the vehicle “the starting procedure.”  The driver will
have to mention out loud the steps to
follow. (10 steps for both manual and automatic transmission) however penalties
will specifically be deducted for:

• Application
  of parking brake
• Application
  of parking brake without using release mechanism.
• Neutral or
  drive (automatic transmission)
• Operation
  of choke
• Starts
  engine
• Warning
  lights and gauges
• Brake pressure
